Sidley named to the Daily Journal’s “Top Plaintiff Verdicts of 2009” list
The Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal recently recognized Howard Rubinroit, Ron Cohen and Frank Broccolo as having obtained one of California’s top five arbitration awards in its listing of “Top Plaintiff Verdicts of 2009.” The case was tried on behalf of firm client NAMA Holdings, LLC, lead investor in the billion dollar-plus World Market Center, a large showroom and trade show complex in Las Vegas. After a 26 day hearing, a unanimous three-member panel issued an award finding that the managers had engaged in self-dealing, abdication of duties and other wrongdoing, and awarded NAMA over $22 million in damages, restored NAMA's membership interests in the project, imposed several hundred thousand dollars in discovery sanctions, and provided other relief.
The Sidley trial team worked closely with co-counsel Koorosh Banayan of K. Banayan & Associates.
