Six Sidley Practices Recognized as Law360 Practice Groups of 2011
New York - Sidley has been recognized in six categories of the Law360 Practice Groups of 2011 award series: Appellate, Bankruptcy, Class Action, Employment, Environmental and International Trade. These recognitions reflect the wide range of practices in which the firm had particularly notable achievements in 2011.

Sidley’s appearance on Law360’s list of Appellate Groups of 2011 is attributed to its involvement in U.S. Supreme Court victories relating to the regulation of greenhouse gas emissions, a $3 billion dollar award against government contractors and state taxation of railroads.
Sidley is named as a Bankruptcy Group of the Year 2011 for its continuing leading roles in major bankruptcy proceedings, including on behalf of client Dynegy Holdings. Sidley was named as a Law360 Bankruptcy Group of the Year for 2010 as well.
Sidley’s inclusion on Law360’s Class Action Groups of 2011 list recognizes the successful defense of AT&T Corp. in one of the largest class actions ever certified. Sidley was also named as one of Law360’s Class Action Groups of 2010.
Sidley’s employment lawyers successful defense of a California hospital, in a case with nationwide implications for regular rate overtime calculations, earned the firm a spot among Law360’s Employment Groups of 2011.
Sidley’s appearance on Law360’s Environmental Groups of 2011 list acknowledges the firm’s role in the U.S. Supreme Court case, referred to above, regarding the regulation of greenhouse gases. Sidley was also named as a Law360 Environmental Group of 2010.
Sidley is named as a Law360 International Trade Group of the Year for 2011 for having a role in some of the highest profile matters of the year, including advising the government of South Korea on the U.S. free trade agreement and winning a rare European Union General Court reversal of anti-dumping measures for LG Electronics. Sidley was also named as a Law360 International Trade Group of 2010.
