Established in 1982, the Singapore office is Sidley’s South East Asian regional base. The Singapore office provides U.S. and English law transactional and counseling services principally in the fields of corporations and corporate finance, securities, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, privatization, securitization, banking and finance, reorganizations and restructurings, non-performing loan dispositions and financings, direct investments, investment companies and funds, and investment adviser and broker-dealer regulation.

With six lawyers resident in Sidley’s Singapore office, we regularly advise multinational and regionally-based corporations, banks and investment banks, state-owned enterprises and governmental ministries, agencies and other instrumentalities. Our partners have been the lead lawyers in a number of the largest securitization, corporate and debt restructurings, securities offerings, privatizations, mergers and acquisitions, non-performing loan and direct investment transactions in Asia. They have also been the lead lawyers on transactions that have been noted for being the first of their kind in their field and are multiple winners of industry awards for innovation, structure and execution.

Sidley lawyers in the Singapore office have been practicing in South East Asia for a significant number of years, working on transactions throughout the region, in locations such as Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, in addition to Singapore.
