Recruiting
What sort of people are we looking for?
The Brussels office focuses on EU law, particularly competition, trade and regulatory matters. Individuals with a law degree from one of the EU Member States and a proven interest and training in EU competition, trade, or regulatory law are welcome to apply for a trainee or associate position. Those with an academic degree are welcome to apply for an analyst position. We seek colleagues who are committed to serving clients and have strong analytical qualities, usually confirmed by consistently excellent academic records. Typically, our new recruits bring working experience they have gained from serving in government, in an association, in an EU institution, or as a scholar, as in-house counsel or in another professional capacity. Fluency in English, demonstrated through education and writing samples is a prerequisite.
Since we are a fast growing office, we are continuously looking for new talent to join our practice. Depending on your experience and qualifications, you can apply for a position as associate, trainee, analyst or legal assistant.
- Associates:
Associates have a law degree and are qualified to practice law, preferably in one of the EU Member States.
- Analysts:
Analysts have no legal degree but have a particular link with the work we are doing. Many analysts have an economics degree, often combined with experience in public affairs or international relations.
- Legal Assistants:
A legal assistant typically has a law degree or specialized training. Legal assistants support the associates and partners in serving clients. They perform research (e.g. legal, economic, factual data), prepare first drafts of submissions and often provide knowledge management support.
Recruitment Process If a position is available which appears to suit your background and qualifications, you may be invited for an interview or conference call to start with. Please note that only those selected for interviews will be contacted. The person with whom you will have an interview varies depending on the position you are applying for. Applicants for associate positions who are selected for an interview normally meet at least one of their potential peers and a partner. The aim of the interview is to give both parties an understanding of how you can contribute to our efforts to serve our clients.
