SUMMER PROGRAM
The New York Summer Associate Program is a thorough introduction to Sidley's culture and practice. A summer associate’s experience in our program is intended to be representative of working as a first-year associate at the firm, and therefore, work assignments are real projects for real clients. The vast majority of our summer associates join the firm as associates after participating in the summer program.
Highlights of the Summer Program
- A wide variety of interesting and substantive work.
- The opportunity to observe and/or participate with our lawyers in various “real life” activities such as client conferences, court hearings, depositions, interviews, negotiations and closings.
- Responsibility for choosing your own assignments and managing the workflow that best suits your own professional interests.
- A partner coordinator and an associate mentor will provide you with professional guidance.
- Attend seminars on due diligence, securities offerings and writing in plain English.

- Formal reviews at the midpoint and end of the summer.
