CHRISTIAN O. MURPHY is an associate in the Litigation Practice in the Washington, D.C. office, focusing on complex commercial litigation and privacy, data security, and information law.

Mr. Murphy has experience in conducting internal investigations and representing clients in government investigations involving a variety of issues that include securities enforcement and off-label drug promotion.

Since joining the firm, Mr. Murphy has also been heavily involved in complex privacy, data security, and information law matters. He has advised clients of the privacy concerns related to marketing mobile applications to children, particularly with regard to compliance with the Child Online Privacy Protection Act. Mr. Murphy has also advised clients on post-merger and acquisition privacy policy implications. In addition, Mr. Murphy has experience with drafting privacy policies and writing guidance documents pertaining to a broad range of domestic and international regulatory and legal requirements related to privacy and data protection.

Mr. Murphy earned his law degree at the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he was a staff member of the First Amendment Law Review. Mr. Murphy received his B.A., summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, in both Classical Civilizations and Political Science from Howard University.
