Sidley's Real Estate practice team is a preeminent provider of legal counsel to clients involved in all aspects of real estate finance. Our lending clients include investment and commercial banks, insurance companies, opportunity funds, mortgage REITs and other financial institutions originating, purchasing and selling loans (and interests in loans) intended for securitization, syndication, sale, participation and portfolio investment. We have experience in a diverse array of real estate financing structures, including acquisition and construction loans, term loans, portfolio financings, secured and unsecured credit facilities, warehouse and repurchase lines, bridge financings, mezzanine loans, synthetic and leveraged leases and leasehold financings. We are a recognized leader in loan splits, sales and participations, including A/B structures, multiparty intercreditor and participation arrangements and investments by lenders throughout the capital stack. We have represented originators and purchasers of commercial mortgage loans encumbering properties located throughout the United States and in Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, Brazil, Canada, China, India and Japan.
