Our Chicago office has committed substantial resources to the community and a variety of pro bono activities. In addition to an extensive commitment to death penalty and asylum cases, we were principal outside counsel to the Chicago 2016 Exploratory Committee, the not-for-profit entity established to represent the City of Chicago in its bid to host the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.
For over 25 years, Sidley has been involved with Kanoon Elementary School as part of an educational partnership with Chicago Public Schools' adopt-a-school program. Sidley also performed all the legal work pro bono for Gay Games VII, a sports and cultural festival held in Chicago in July 2006. In November 2005, Sidley’s Chicago office proudly moved to One South Dearborn as the principal tenant of Illinois' first LEED-CS (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Core and Shell Development) Silver Certified Green Building.
