Richard F. O'Malley Jr.
RICHARD O’MALLEY is senior counsel in the Intellectual Property Litigation Group in the Chicago office. Previously, Dick had been a partner in the firm for 25 years. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, principally in the intellectual property and class action areas. He has represented companies as plaintiff and defendant in patent, trade secret and copyright cases in a wide range of industries and technologies including pharmaceuticals, fiber optics, software and electronic security companies. He has been successful in state and federal trial and appellate courts.

Dick is the firm’s Chicago chair of its Pro Bono and Public Interest Law Committee. He has served on the board and as President of Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI). He has also served on the boards of CARPLS and Leadership Greater Chicago. He has taught trial evidence at Northwestern University Law School. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, Seventh Circuit Bar Association, Federal Bar Association and American Intellectual Property Law Association.
