THOMAS WEBER’s practice spans a wide range of commercial litigation matters involving intellectual property and trade secrets litigation, contract disputes, government enforcement, and shareholder suits, among others, in various industries, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, consumer products, and accounting services.
Thomas has broad litigation experience, such as drafting pleadings, briefing dispositive and other motions, negotiating and litigating discovery disputes, presenting oral argument in federal court and in arbitration, taking depositions, working with expert witnesses, and managing discovery. Thomas also maintains an active pro bono practice.
Before joining Sidley, Thomas completed two federal clerkships—for Judge Thomas L. Kirsch II of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and for Judge James Patrick Hanlon of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
Thomas graduated from Harvard Law School, where he served as an editor of the Harvard Journal of Law & Technology. He earned his B.S. in Economic Consulting and Public Policy Analysis, with honors and highest distinction, from Indiana University.
Before attending law school, Thomas taught middle school mathematics in Hawai'i as a Teach for America corps member.
