Sidley Emerging Enterprises Pro Bono Program


Launched by Sidley in 2012, the Emerging Enterprises Pro Bono Program provides free legal support to eligible small and medium-sized for-profit enterprises and market-focused NGOs and non-profits that have a clear social impact in developing countries across Africa, Asia, Central and South America and the Caribbean.

The program aims to impact and benefit poor, rural and disadvantaged communities, particularly women, Emerging Enterprises Programby supporting local businesses that provide enhanced employment and livelihood opportunities. Sidley’s holistic approach ensures both tangible and intangible gains to the beneficiaries.

Silverleaf Academy


Silverleaf Academy is Tanzania’s first chain of tablet-enabled affordable private pre-primary and primary English Medium schools. Silverleaf Academy will ensure that students gain basic skills of writing, reading and counting, whilst also being prepared for a world where critical thinking, team collaboration, and entrepreneurship are a must.
     

SiembraViva 
  SiembraViva

SiembraViva is a Colombian supply chain agribusiness established in 2012 that connects smallholder farmers selling organic produce to customers in cities through logistics and e-commerce platform. The company also sets up greenhouses on farmer lands with precise agriculture technology, supply farmers with inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, organic pest controls. 
     

GreenPath 
  GreenPath

GreenPath is a for-profit company that supports smallholder farmers in Ethiopia through the provision of training, infrastructure and access to markets. Smallholders receive training in permaculture techniques (organic, biodiverse, sustainable farming). Higher yields and organic certification help deliver higher profits to farmers and incentivize them to move away from growing less nutritious crops that rely heavily on chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
