Established in 2006, Sidley’s Frankfurt office includes more than 15 lawyers who assist clients with finance and capital markets transactions, with a particular focus on corporate transactions of all kinds, including mergers and acquisitions, securitization and structured finance and real estate. The transaction teams are supported by experienced tax lawyers. Lawyers from the Frankfurt office have participated in some of the largest and most complex financing transactions in the German market, including a number of high profile CMBS transactions.
The Frankfurt finance team also has significant experience in collateralized debt obligations, and in a wide variety of other asset classes, including trade, loan, lease and mail order receivables, profit participation notes (
Genußscheine), RMBS and public law governed receivables . Frankfurt lawyers have also advised on numerous initial public offerings, secondary placements and equity derivatives.
The Frankfurt corporate practice concentrates on advising domestic and foreign companies including listed companies in the areas of M&A and corporate law. Together with the finance team, Frankfurt corporate lawyers have structured various cross-border acquisitions, including coordinating teams from various offices of the firm.
In addition to German and English, one or more lawyers in the Frankfurt office speak French, Georgian, Polish, Russian and Spanish.
