HAE-WON MIN LIAO is a partner in the firm’s San Francisco office, focusing primarily on healthcare issues. Ms. Min Liao represents a variety of clients, including pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, biotech companies, durable medical equipment suppliers, hospitals, and other healthcare entities. She has advised banks and investors on corporate transactions involving device and pharmaceutical companies, long-term care facilities, and hospitals regarding coverage/reimbursement and various potential fraud and abuse issues.
Ms. Min Liao’s practice includes compliance counseling related to price reporting under the Medicare and Medicaid programs, the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute, and the Sunshine Act. She has experience in drafting and negotiating managed care contracts, analyzing exclusion and personal liability risks, preparing compliance policies, and reviewing distribution systems. Her practice involves strategic advice related to services fees, coverage and reimbursement of products, and competitive bidding. She has lobbied on behalf of clients on a variety of healthcare matters with respect to federal and state law issues.
Ms. Min Liao has performed internal corporate investigations and defended companies in government investigations involving healthcare fraud and abuse allegations and the False Claims Act.
