JENNIFER C. HAGLE joined the firm in 1987 and is a partner in the Global Finance and Corporate Reorganization and Bankruptcy Groups. She is also a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, co-chair of Sidley’s firm-wide Recruiting Committee and co-chair of the Los Angeles Corporate Transactions group. The focus of her practice is primarily in the areas of bankruptcy, corporate reorganization and corporate finance where she has represented debtors, creditors (secured and unsecured), creditor and bondholder committees, syndicated bank groups, hedge funds and equity investors with respect to both loan origination and restructurings in bankruptcy and out-of-court. Ms. Hagle has been involved in the restructuring or recapitalization of various types of entities including companies in the business of television/motion picture distribution and production, the automotive industry, aircraft manufacturing, publishing, retail sales, manufacturing, ethanol and biofuels production, restaurant management, internet gaming, gaming, health care consulting, commercial real estate, technology and telecommunications.
Recently, Ms. Hagle’s practice has focused on representing bank agents, lender syndicates and hedge funds with respect to senior and subordinated secured and unsecured debt involving both public and private companies. Her representations have included, among other things, negotiating and documenting complex intercreditor agreements. Ms. Hagle has also worked on a number of cross border transactions.
Ms. Hagle served as a judicial extern to former Chief Justice Malcolm M. Lucas of the California Supreme Court.
Ms. Hagle has recently served as a panel speaker on a variety of topics including secured lending, agent liability in syndicated loan transactions and distressed debt trading for the ABA Business Law Section and the Commercial Finance Association and recent bankruptcy developments for the Loan Syndications and Trading Association (LSTA). Ms. Hagle has also been involved for several years with the Aquarium of the Pacific located in Long Beach. She is on the Board of Directors, serving as secretary to the Board, and is a member of the Executive Committee and chair of the HR/Compensation Committee.
Most recently, Ms. Hagle was named to the Daily Journal’s 2011 list of the Top 25 Women Corporate and Transactional Lawyers in California. She has also been identified as a leading Bankruptcy lawyer in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Business Lawyers 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
