SHALOM L. KOHN works as a partner in the firm’s Chicago and New York offices.
Mr. Kohn was born in New York, New York in 1949. He sought preparatory education at the City University of New York (Brooklyn College). Graduating in 1970, summa cum laude, he received his B.S. in Accounting. He furthered his studies by attending Harvard Law School where he received his J.D. in 1974, magna cum laude. He was Editor and Articles Editor for the Harvard Law Review. From 1974-75, he clerked for the Honorable Irving Kaufman from the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Kohn is a frequent lecturer in bankruptcy and insolvency, including programs sponsored by ALI-ABA. He is the author of "Recoupment Reexamined," 73 Bankr. L.J. 353 (1999), and co-author of a chapter found in the West Publishing Company’s Health Law Practice Guide, titled "Bankruptcy Proceedings Affecting Healthcare."
