Our Practice

Land Use and Government Relations

Sidley's Land Use and Government Relations team has extensive experience assisting clients in working through the complexities of the local regulatory process. Our land use lawyers have obtained entitlements from scores of municipal and suburban jurisdictions, enabling clients to construct projects, large and small, of every type and character. In addition, these lawyers have secured approvals for unique institutional projects, such as large hospitals, schools, churches and community centers, and have assisted utilities in the expansion of their service networks.

Our lawyers also are veterans of the subdivision process, possessing technical experience to guide a proposed subdivision through the approval process, and to negotiate ambiguous and/or interpretational issues to the maximum benefit of the client. We also counsel clients in obtaining benefits under various economic development and tax incentive programs available to encourage specific types of investment.
