THOMAS P. BROWN is a partner in the Chicago office. Mr. Brown's principal area of practice is the representation of commercial and investment banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions in domestic and international securitization transactions and in syndicated credit transactions of a wide variety. These transactions have included a particular focus on the formation, administration and innovative purchase and financing programs involving the use of asset-backed conduits in the United States and Europe; the cross-border securitization of assets originated in Japan; and the restructuring and strategic re-positioning of facilities and programs in response to credit issues and an evolving regulatory regime. He also counsels clients on financial regulatory matters, including with respect to risk-based capital guidelines and the Federal Reserve Board's margin regulations. Mr. Brown is an adjunct professor at Northwestern University Law School, where he teaches a course on Structuring Financial Transactions.
