ZHENGYU TANG is the Chief Representative and partner in charge of Sidley’s Shanghai office. He leads the firm's inbound investment and M&A practice in China, representing a wide range of international industrial, financial and strategic investors with regard to their China investments and operations. He also regularly advises on China regulatory, tax, competition, compliance and governance as well as life sciences issues.

Educated in China and the U.S., Mr. Tang has practiced law with leading Chinese and international firms since 1986. He has been recognized, for many years, in AsiaLaw Leading Lawyers, Asia Pacific Legal 500, Chambers & Partners Global and Asia and PLC Which Lawyer as a leading or top lawyer for China corporate, M&A and competition work. He is a native Chinese speaker and is fluent in English.
