THOMAS W. ALBRECHT is a partner in Sidley's Chicago office. Mr. Albrecht is a member of the firm's Management and Executive Committees and co-head of the Global Structured Finance and Securitization Practice. His practice includes domestic and international securitizations, structured finance transactions, restructurings and workouts. His clients include multinational corporations, commercial banks, commercial paper and medium term note conduits, monoline and multiline insurance companies. He has assisted in the securitization of a wide variety of assets including trade receivables, credit cards, consumer loan contracts, automobile loans, motor vehicle leases, wholesale and dealer inventory loans, equipment leases, collateralized loan transactions, collateralized bond obligations, catastrophe bond transactions, royalty payment streams, structured settlements and life contingent contractual cash flows. Mr. Albrecht’s practice has recently included a number of whole business securitization transactions, cross-border finance transactions utilizing bilateral investment treaty structures and distressed asset purchases involving a variety of purchasers and assets.

Mr. Albrecht is the co-author of "Corporate Loan Securitization: Selected Legal and Regulatory Issues," Duke Journal of Comparative and International Law (Spring 1998); author of "Securitising Receivables: Protecting Against Bankruptcy," International Financial Law Review (September 1990). Mr. Albrecht is also a member of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers, Inc.
