MICHELE ILENE RUIZ is a partner in the Chicago office. She is a member of the Investment Products and Derivatives practice group.
She represents clients in securities and derivatives-related corporate and regulatory matters, including organization and operation of hedge funds and commodity pools, organization and operation of investment advisers, broker-dealers, commodity pool operators and commodity trading advisors, structured products, and derivatives documentation and regulation.
Ms. Ruiz was recently appointed by U.S. Senator Dick Durbin to a screening committee to assist the Senator in selecting Federal District Court Judges and a U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Illinois.
A graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics, Ms. Ruiz obtained her Doctor of Law from The Law School at The University of Chicago in 1994.
