RYAN SANDROCK is a partner in Sidley’s San Francisco office. Ryan litigates antitrust, intellectual property, and consumer fraud cases. He also is a member of Sidley’s E-Discovery Task Force and has extensive experience counseling clients regarding how to manage the costs and burdens of e-discovery.
Ryan’s recent cases include representing: a pharmaceutical company against tying and other antitrust claims; a semiconductor manufacturer against patent infringement and breach of contract claims; and a home electronics manufacturer against price-fixing claims in multi-district litigation in the Northern District of California. Ryan also has represented international companies in state and federal government price-fixing investigations. Ryan also counsels clients regarding their antitrust compliance policies and document preservation and collection procedures.
Prior to joining Sidley’s San Francisco office, Ryan worked in Sidley’s Chicago office, where he defended consumer class actions on behalf of numerous Fortune 500 companies in a variety of industries, including sellers of consumer goods and services, financial services, and insurance. Ryan was part of the Sidley team that represented Equity Office Properties in litigation regarding what was then the largest leveraged buyout transaction in history. Ryan also gained significant courtroom experience litigating cases large and small in Illinois state court. Ryan remains a member of the Illinois bar.
Ryan has an active pro bono practice and serves on the Advisory Board of the San Francisco Law Academy, a program that encourages and increases career opportunities for students at Balboa High School in San Francisco. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Sandrock worked as a high school teacher and track coach.
