TIM M. SWAN is an associate in the firm’s Chicago office. His primary area of practice is technology transactions and corporate mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Swan has assisted clients with a variety of corporate and intellectual property related matters in various industries, including the software, information technology, telecommunication, healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology (including agricultural biotechnology), sporting goods, gaming and financial services industries. He has helped clients in preparing and negotiating stock and asset purchase agreements, as well as licensing, development, professional services, contract research and other technology related agreements. He also advises clients on e-commerce, internet and open source issues. Mr. Swan has counseled clients on joint ventures, collaborations and strategic alliances, including in the pharmaceutical, healthcare informatics and energy fields. Tim has been recognized by Chambers USA 2013 as an “associate to watch” in Technology & Outsourcing. He has also been recommended by The Legal 500 U.S. 2013 for Media, Technology, and Telecoms.
Mr. Swan received his Juris Doctorate degree with high honors from the University of Chicago, where he was a member of the University of Chicago Law Review and the Order of the Coif. Before law school, Mr. Swan obtained his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
