LEIF PETERSON has experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in complex patent litigation, including with respect to infringement, validity, damages, FRAND licensing, breach of contract and antitrust issues. His experience spans a broad array of technologies, including cellular and wireless standards, pharmaceuticals, automotive devices, telematics devices and others. He has been a member of several trial teams, including in litigation before United States district courts, investigations before the International Trade Commission and in international arbitration. Leif’s experience spans all phases of patent litigation, including drafting pleadings, developing and assessing infringement and validity theories, managing and conducting fact and expert discovery, taking and defending depositions of fact and expert witnesses, preparing dispositive motions, as well as all aspects of trial preparation.
Leif received his law degree, magna cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law, achieving the honor of Order of the Coif. While in law school, Leif served as Associate Editor of the Northwestern University Law Review and Treasurer of the Intellectual Property Law Society. Leif received his B.S. in Chemical Physics in 2011 from Michigan State University, graduating summa cum laude and receiving the Board of Trustees’ Award.
Prior to attending law school, Leif worked as a laboratory technician, gaining experience in inorganic chemistry and materials science, as well as the preliminary preparation of patent applications.
