JENNY WHEELER focuses her practice on white collar and regulatory enforcement matters, professional liability actions and complex commercial disputes. Jenny represents corporate clients, public accounting firms and individuals in a wide range of enforcement actions before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and the U.S. Department of Justice. These representations have encompassed issues related to revenue recognition, inventory accounting, accounts payable practices, internal controls over financial reporting and disclosure obligations.
Jenny also has extensive experience in all stages of litigation before both federal and state courts, including drafting dispositive motions and appellate briefs; negotiating and litigating discovery disputes; taking and defending depositions; working with expert witnesses; and managing all phases of discovery, including large-scale reviews and productions. She has successfully defended clients before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and in proceedings before the district court.
Jenny is actively involved in pro bono matters. Through the firm’s Political Asylum and Immigrants’ Rights Project, she assisted a family in securing asylum from political persecution and successfully applying for permanent residency. Jenny also drafted district court and appellate briefs on behalf of school children seeking to redress violations of their Due Process and Equal Protection rights.
