Sidley partner Amy Lally will be moderating a panel that will discuss the use of self-initiated market actions and best practices in customer service to moot or otherwise defeat class certification when retailers are faced with a consumer product-related complaints. The panel will discuss lessons that can be drawn from threatened lawsuits that were mooted by a self-initiated action and identify specific steps retailers can take to determine whether a form of a privately offered remedy can be made available to customers in order to destroy a consumer class action lawsuit. Panelists will include Dana DuFrane (General Counsel of The Real Real, Inc.), Emily Milman (Assistant General Counsel of Crate & Barrel) and Tara Marciano (Director & Senior Counsel of Hudson’s Bay Company).
