AWARD-WINNING HISTORIAN & AUTHOR
One of the nation’s leading experts on the history of women’s suffrage and scholar in residence at American University, Johanna has written two books on the topic, including And Yet They Persisted: How American Women Won the Right to Vote. Before pursuing her PhD in history, she covered the White House, State Department and Congress as a journalist for USA Today and the Los Angeles Times. She vowed to dedicate the rest of her career to writing books that honored her two professions, incorporating the deep archival research of the historian with the storytelling talent of the journalist.
Guests will receive a copy of And Yet They Persisted.
