Dave Rody is a partner in the New York office of Sidley Austin LLP. He served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York from 1998 until 2011. During his government service and his time at Sidley, Rody has been lead or co-lead counsel in 15 federal criminal trials, on charges ranging from insider trading and drug diversion to terrorism and capital murder, including several that lasted two months or more. He has also directed hundreds of investigations in a variety of matters, including securities fraud, bank fraud, mail fraud, money laundering, off-label promotion, obstruction of justice, extortion, narcotics trafficking and racketeering. Rody regularly represents individuals and corporations before the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the New York State Department of Financial Services and other government and regulatory agencies.
