Washington, D.C. – Sidley is pleased to announce that two leading life sciences transactions lawyers, Asher Rubin, former global leader of Hogan Lovells’ Life Sciences industry group, and Adriana Tibbitts, will join the firm as partners in Sidley’s Global Life Sciences group. They are the latest in a series of high-profile partners to join this practice in recent years, both on the East and West coasts and globally.
Mr. Rubin and Ms. Tibbitts represent a broad range of clients in the life sciences industry, including private and publicly traded companies in the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical technology and digital health fields, top venture capital and private equity funds and their portfolio companies, and universities and academic medical centers. A significant portion of their practice is focused on advising emerging companies on formation, financing, and the acquisition and development of novel technologies.
In his many years of experience including having served as general counsel to a publicly traded pharmaceutical company, Mr. Rubin has become one of the most recognized lawyers in life sciences. Mr. Rubin regularly guides his clients through complex licensing agreements and significant capital markets transactions, including IPOs, M&A, structured finance arrangements and more. In the past several years, he has also handled transactions involving some of the most cutting-edge technologies in the industry, such as ultra-orphan drugs, gene therapies, CAR-T therapies, and co-stimulatory proteins, among others.
Similarly, Ms. Tibbitts draws on a deep knowledge of the life sciences industry in her work advising clients on transactional matters, including collaboration and license agreements, joint ventures, M&A, financing transactions, the acquisition of pharmaceutical royalty streams, and other commercial transactions. She also represents clients on general corporate and commercial matters.
