Sidley partner Lei Li was named among Asian Legal Business’ 2018 “China Client Choice Lawyers.” The award recognizes “outstanding lawyers who have established the strongest client connections” and have won clients’ trust in China. The selection was based on nominations from in-house legal counsel and executives, as well as business consultants at non-legal enterprises.
Lei is a partner in Sidley’s Beijing and Shanghai offices and focuses his practice on antitrust, FCPA compliance and commercial litigation (including trade litigation) matters. Having worked on antitrust matters in China since the launch of China’s Anti-monopoly Law in 2008, he has accumulated extensive experience in this area. He provides merger clearance advice in high-profile domestic and cross-border M&A deals and inbound joint venture transactions. Lei advises multinational companies on antitrust compliance matters in China in connection with product distribution, product pricing and IP licensing, as well as responding to antitrust investigations and inquiries by Chinese government agencies. Prior to joining Sidley, Lei worked at MOFCOM for eight years, responsible for resolving inter-governmental trade and investment disputes and coordinating commercial litigation and disputes in foreign jurisdictions involving Chinese companies.
