Doreen M. Rachal (Boston) received the 2019 “Outstanding Woman Lawyer Hidden Figure/Impact Award” from the National Bar Association – Women Lawyers Division (NBA-WLD). She accepted the award at the WLD Annual Achievement Awards Breakfast on July 23, during the NBA Annual Convention in New York. The annual breakfast event celebrates the achievements of outstanding women lawyers and jurists from across the country.
Doreen is a member of Sidley’s White Collar: Government Litigation and Investigations and Securities and Derivatives Enforcement and Regulatory groups. She is also active with the Boston Bar Association, the National Conference of Bar Presidents, the American Bar Association and the National Bar Association. From 2013–2014, she served as president of the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association. Prior to joining Sidley, Doreen was an Assistant United States Attorney at the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts in the Affirmative Civil Enforcement Unit.
Established in 1972, the NBA-WLD serves “as a vehicle for women in the practice of law to address the issues and problems that particularly affect, interest, and concern African American women.”
