Crain’s Chicago Business named partners Anny Huang, Pran Jha and Byron Taylor to its 2019 list of “Notable Minorities in Accounting, Consulting and Law.” The annual list profiled 56 professionals, many of whom overcame obstacles and bias to rise to the top in their fields and have done their part to promote diversity and inclusion at their firms.
Anny leads Sidley’s nationally recognized alternative assets practice and chairs the 50+ partner firmwide Committee on Professional Responsibility. She actively advocates for women and lawyers of color, serving on Sidley’s Diversity and Women’s Committees and Women of Color Working Group. Anny has promoted conflicts and firm policies that increase equity and inclusion and extensively mentored female and diverse junior colleagues.
While handling a variety of high-profile M&A, capital markets, spin-offs, joint ventures and corporate governance matters, Pran is firmwide co-chair of the Diversity Committee. He was recently named to the position, having previously led the Chicago Diversity committee and producing measurable results in recruiting and retaining diverse associates and partners. Pran has been vital in increasing the advancement and promotion of minority, LGBTQ and disabled associates.
As co-head of Sidley’s Environmental practice, Byron helps lead more than 35 lawyers across the firm who advise on complex matters arising under environmental and natural resources laws. Byron is a powerful force on Sidley’s Diversity Committee, particularly through his participation in the mentoring program.
