The Texas Lawbook, in conjunction with The Association of Corporate Counsel’s Dallas-Fort Worth chapter, honored Sidley client Celanese with its 2019 “DFW Creative Partnership Award.” Further, Sidley as well as Haynes and Boone were also awarded as part of the pro bono team. The annual Creative Partnership Awards recognize both the in-house corporate legal departments and the outside counsel with whom they partner.
The 2019 award recognized Celanese’s collaboration with Sidley and Haynes and Boone on the pro bono program for the company’s legal department. Having selected Sidley as its inaugural pro bono law firm partner, Celanese and Sidley have implemented a “virtual team,” and have handled matters such as grandparent’s rights cases, veteran’s disputes and immigration issues. In an article covering the awards, Celanese’s general counsel Lynne Puckett stated, “At its core, the partnership is about identifying the unique opportunities for our legal team members and aligning those opportunities with the resources of a firm to tackle meaningful issues for the communities in which we live and work.”
