For the third consecutive year, Sidley was named among the “Top Foreign Law Firms” by India Business Law Journal (IBLJ). The publication’s annual report recognizes the top 15 international law firms for their “unparalleled” India practices and routine engagements advising on complex and high-value transactions involving Indian businesses. Recognized firms were selected based on in-depth research and analysis of more than 600 law firms, from every continent, that have catalogued deals and disputes with an Indian element in the past 12 months.
Sidley was rated “among the best firms doing India-facing work” and lauded as “a mighty player that is most well-suited to cater to the needs of an Indian capital markets transaction,” having outperformed many rivals to secure roles on meaty fundraising exercises. IBLJ lauded Sidley for advising Reliance Industries on a US$7 billion rights offering — the largest rights offering by a non-financial services company in the world in the past 10 years. Notably, Singapore partners Manoj Bhargava and Ankit Kashyap drew significant praise from clients in the report for their keen insight in capital market transactions.
