Lawyers Alliance for New York presented Kenny S. Terrero with the 2020 “Cornerstone Award” in recognition of his exceptional pro bono legal services for nonprofits. Kenny is one of 10 honorees selected out of Lawyers Alliance’s network of more than 2,000 volunteers. Since 1997, Lawyers Alliance has presented the “Cornerstone Award” to select individuals and institutions that have made extraordinary contributions through pro bono legal services, helping nonprofits address critical human needs and improve the quality of life for thousands of low-income New Yorkers.
Kenny is a corporate counsel with broad experience in corporate and compliance matters relating to corporate issuers, exchange-traded funds, and closed-end funds. He devotes a significant amount of time to pro bono matters, advising pro bono clients on the formation and the ongoing operations of nonprofit organizations. He has assisted a number of pro bono clients in obtaining tax-exempt treatment through either fiscal sponsorship arrangements or by obtaining 501(c)(3) exempt status with the IRS.
