The National Law Journal (NLJ) named Rebecca (Becky) K. Wood to its 2021 list of “Healthcare and Life Sciences Trailblazers,” which profiles leading lawyers in the healthcare and life sciences industry sectors.
NLJ praised Becky’s experience streamlining the drug and device approval process and developing the use of gene therapy as Chief Counsel at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. She was further commended for leveraging her FDA experience to lead Sidley’s Food, Drug, and Medical Device Regulatory practice and for helping launch Sidley’s COVID-19 Task Force — one of the earliest to be launched by a law firm.
Becky serves on Sidley’s Global Life Sciences Leadership Council and leads Sidley’s Washington, D.C. Healthcare and FDA group. She also has served as Global lead of the Food, Drug and Medical Device Regulatory practice. Becky advises FDA-regulated clients on a range of COVID-19 response efforts, including the regulation of Personal Protective Equipment, Emergency Use Authorizations, and immunity considerations under the PREP Act.
