Sidley partner Laura M. Barzilai has been awarded “Tax Lawyer of the Year” and the “Tax Dispute Resolution Lawyer of the Year” at IFLR’s Women in Business Law Americas Awards 2022. The annual awards celebrate women lawyers who have developed strong and innovative practices.
A nationally regarded tax lawyer, Laura is a long-time advisor to Fortune 100 companies, privately-held U.S. and international companies, insurance companies, banks, private equity funds, and sovereign wealth funds. As the global leader of Sidley’s renowned Tax practice, she leads a team of more than 70 tax lawyers with vast experience advising clients on their most complex tax issues. In 2021 alone, she advised clients on matters with a cumulative value of nearly US$10 billion. Laura is an influential voice in tax law, in addition to being a leader, mentor, and change agent at Sidley.
