Melissa Colón-Bosolet, a partner in Sidley’s New York office, has been named to Crain’s New York Business’ 2022 “Notable Hispanic Leaders” list. The annual supplement spotlights the Hispanic professionals who are shaping companies and institutions in the New York metropolitan area — in both the nonprofit and private sectors. Honorees were selected for “showing accomplishment in their field” and the “ability to break through artificial ceilings in the workplace,” and for mentoring and elevating other diverse professionals.
Melissa represents clients in high-risk business disputes in federal and state courts, arbitrations, and represents companies and board committees in some of their most complex and sensitive enforcement and investigation-related issues. Melissa’s litigation skills and reputation as a trusted business counselor has earned her industry accolades and she was named to Bloomberg Law’s inaugural edition of “They’ve Got Next: 40 Under 40” in 2021.
Melissa is also a leader in the New York legal community. She currently serves on the Board of the NYC Bar Association and is a Trustee of Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC. As an active Cornell Law alumna, Melissa serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council and helped create the Latino Lawyers of Cornell group. She is a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association, and also serves as a co-chair of Sidley’s New York Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee. In mid-July, Melissa coordinated and launched Sidley’s first networking event devoted to alumni from diverse backgrounds.
