Sidley partners Lyndsey Laverack, Fatema Orjela, and Jade Williams-Adedeji have been honored at the Women in Business Law EMEA Awards 2023. Lyndsey received the “Mergers & Acquisitions Lawyer of the Year” award, Fatema was named “Private Equity Lawyer of the Year,” and for the second year in a row Jade was presented with the “Real Estate Lawyer of the Year” award. Lyndsey focuses her practice on cross-border M&A. Although she maintains a broad corporate practice, she has a particular interest in the real estate sector and has significant experience in this industry. Her clients include private equity funds, public and private companies, asset managers, and developers, and her practice spans a wide range of sectors including real estate, life sciences, and financial services. She advises on the full spectrum of corporate transactions and her experience includes numerous acquisitions and disposals (including both auction sales and bilateral transactions) and related management arrangements, developments, complex joint ventures, and corporate advisory work.
Fatema’s practice focuses on providing strategic counsel to European and U.S. private equity sponsors. She has pan-European cross-sector experience on the full range of corporate matters, including leveraged buyouts, strategic mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures, structured and minority equity investments, equity and debt restructurings, and management equity plans, as well as related advisory work.
Jade’s practice focuses on advising clients on the full investment cycle of real estate ownership and has wide ranging experience in all aspects of real estate sales and acquisitions, landlord and tenant, portfolio and asset operation and management, development, real estate lending and distressed investment. Jade’s experience covers a wealth of real estate asset classes in both equity and asset investment including hotels, residential care homes, development properties, restaurants and leisure, warehousing, retail, offices, healthcare, student accommodation, renewable energy, and mixed-use developments.
