Sidley is representing GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, in connection with its acquisition together with Brookfield Infrastructure of Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (G&W). G&W owns a portfolio of 120 short line railroads, predominantly in North America, with operations in Europe and Australia.
The transaction is valued at approximately $8.4 billion including debt, and will result in G&W becoming a privately held company. Genesee & Wyoming Inc. stockholders will receive $112 in cash per share of common stock.
