Sidley represented Kyuden International Corporation, a subsidiary of Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc., a major Japanese utility company, in its indirect acquisition from Diamond Generating LLC of a 12.5% stake in Tenaska Pennsylvania Partners, LLC (TPP). The acquisition closed on November 27, 2019.
TPP owns and operates the Tenaska Westmoreland Generating Station, approximately 940 MW natural gas-fired combined cycle power plant located in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, USA.
The Tenaska Westmoreland Generating Station achieved commercial operation on December 21, 2018 and supplies electricity to PJM, an independent system operator in the Eastern U.S. that operates the largest wholesale electricity market in the United States.
