Sidley is pleased to announce the launch of its Remote Working Parents (RWP) initiative aimed at lawyers and designed to research and explore ways to ease the burden on its working parents during these unprecedented times, particularly those who carry a disproportionate burden of childcare. The RWP is an initiative of the Committee on the Retention and Promotion of Women and is led by Sidley partners Jaime Bartlett and Corin Swift.
The RWP is made up of an advisory board of firm leaders and more than 30 members that represent the firm’s diverse population, and includes partners, associates, professional staff, and diversity and inclusion staff from across its U.S. offices. Its mission is to gather existing resources and develop a proposal supported by data, to help ensure the firm’s working parents have readily available tools and resources to navigate these unforeseen circumstances, maintain their health and wellness, and continue to have equal opportunities for advancement. The pandemic has underscored the importance of having a direct focus on how to best support its working parents. In addition to the RWP initiative for lawyers, Sidley is also evaluating programming and support for staff. Sidley is proud to be one of the leaders in developing programs to support working parents during these unprecedented times.
