A Sidley team led by Richard Weiner achieved a significant victory for Nippon Steel Corporation (NSC), one of the world’s largest steel producers. Sidley obtained a 0% dumping margin in the final results of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s second administrative review of the antidumping duty (AD) order on hot-rolled steel from Japan.
This remarkable outcome was achieved through nearly two years of hard work by Sidley lawyers and NSC’s skilled and dedicated team. As a result of this effort, millions of dollars of AD cash deposits will be refunded to NSC’s U.S. importers. Moreover, for at least the next year, shipments of NSC’s hot-rolled steel will enter the U.S. free from AD cash deposits.
The Sidley team also included counsel Raj Pal, associates Shawn Higgins and Justin Becker, international visiting professional Yukari Kita, paralegal Gavin Cunningham, practice group assistant Kate Bartoli, and project assistant Ally Reilly.
