Sidley is representing Barclays and Code Advisors as underwriters’ counsel in the US$230 million initial public offering (IPO) of Group Nine Acquisition Corp. (NASDAQ: GNACU), a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) sponsored by an entity affiliated with Group Nine Media, Inc., the New York-based digital media holding company. The SPAC is focused on acquisition opportunities in the digital media and adjacent industries. The IPO (inclusive of the underwriters’ over-allotment option, which was exercised in full) closed on January 20, 2021.
The team is led by Mike Heinz and Kunle Deru (Capital Markets), and includes William (Beau) Blakely and Phil Acevedo (M&A), Ben Nager (FINRA), and Christian Brause and Rémi Gagnon (Tax).
