Sidley Ranked No.1 by FactSet SharkRepellent for 2020

Sidley was ranked No. 1 by FactSet SharkRepellent among legal advisers to companies based on the number of activist campaigns launched in 2020.

This ranking follows Sidley’s No. 1 ranking in Bloomberg’s Global Activism Market Review for company-side engagements in 2020 and Sidley’s Activist Insight 2020 Adviser Award for issuer representations in 2020.

In the past five years, the co-chairs of Sidley’s Shareholder Activism practice, Kai Liekefett and Derek Zaba, have defended against more than 70 proxy contests, including 25% of all U.S. proxy fights that went all the way (while losing only four votes), and represented issuers in scores of settlements.
