Sidley represented The Gift of Chess, Inc in obtaining 501(c)(3) status. Launched last year, the young organization accomplished its preliminary goal of distributing 10,000 chess sets to children in NYC’s public schools in December. In addition to gifting chess sets, The Gift of Chess provides free online chess technology through a partnership with ChessKid.com and hosts chess camps and competitions amongst local NYC school children. Through its efforts, The Gift of Chess hopes to provide transferrable life skills, intellectual stimulation, and greater opportunities for students to make a positive impact in their community.
