ANDRES BARAJAS is a managing associate at Sidley’s New York office and is a member of the Restructuring practice. His experience includes advising both debtor and creditor clients through complex Chapter 11 restructurings and bankruptcy-related litigation proceedings. Andres previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Martin Glenn, Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
Andres earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and a managing editor of the Columbia Journal of Race and Law. Andres received an M.Ed. and a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.

- Templar Energy – Represented Presidio Petroleum and its sponsor, Morgan Stanley Energy Partners, in their successful US$92 million acquisition of the assets of Templar Energy pursuant to a section 363 auction.
- Boy Scouts of America – Represented Boy Scouts of America in their Chapter 11 cases in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
- Exide Technologies – Represented Exide Technologies in connection with certain post-confirmation matters in its Chapter 11 case.
- Mattress Firm, Inc. – Represented Mattress Firm, Inc. and its affiliates in their pre-packaged Chapter 11 cases, eliminating over US$3 billion of debt.
