IVET BELL advises private fund managers in the U.S. and internationally on a wide variety of aspects related to their businesses, including fund formation and offerings, management company arrangements, regulatory matters, and fund- and portfolio company-level sales. She has experience with funds across liquidity, asset, and strategy types, including private equity funds, venture capital funds, hedge funds, funds-of-funds, and other alternative investment products, such as credit, special situations, real estate, and energy funds.
Ivet regularly advises on transactional matters such as secondary sales (both buy- and sell-side), restructurings, GP-stakes, and fundless sponsor equity financings. In addition, Ivet represents institutional investors and fund-of-funds clients in connection with their fund investments, co-investments, and otherwise. She also advises private fund managers and other related institutions on corporate governance, regulatory compliance (in particular associated with the U.S. Investment Advisers Act and the U.S. Investment Company Act), public securities offerings for REITs and mutual funds, and prime broker and trading agreements.
Ivet is fluent in French and Spanish. She has significant experience with international transactions, primarily in the Latin American space.
She holds a degree in Economics, magna cum laude, from Harvard College. She received her J.D. with honors from Columbia Law School, where she served as editor-in-chief of the Columbia Journal of Law and Social Problems and as an M&A teaching assistant.
