STEPHEN D. BLEVIT is a partner and a member of the Global Finance and Real Estate practices. He is primarily involved in structuring, negotiating and documenting complex business transactions involving both debt and equity. Steve’s clients include Wall Street banks, special opportunities hedge funds, private equity funds, debt funds and public and privately held companies. He works with companies in a variety of industries and is known for handling a wide variety of new and novel transactions. Steve has handled transactions involving more than $75 billion throughout his career, including over $50 billion of loans secured by single family rental homes. The Invitation Homes 2013-1 securitization he handled was named Structured Finance Deal of the Year for 2013 by International Financing Review.
Prior to joining Sidley, Steve worked for billionaire entrepreneur Eli Broad as the Assistant to the Chairman of SunAmerica Inc. He handled mergers and acquisitions and corporate development responsibilities for SunAmerica and was also involved in the management of SunAmerica’s alternative asset portfolio. Steve is also a Certified Public Accountant and was an Adjunct Professor at University of Southern California Gould School of Law where he taught Mergers & Acquisitions for four years.
Steve earned his J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, where he was a staff editor for the Southern California Law Review. He received a B.S., magna cum laude, from DePaul University.
