SCOTT BORDER focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation at the trial and appellate level. Scott also has extensive experience representing clients in complex administrative proceedings at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO), including inter partes reviews, covered business method reviews and re-examination proceedings. His experience in these matters includes cross-examining and defending expert witnesses and presenting oral argument before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. He is experienced in various technologies, including computing systems and software, integrated circuits, reconfigurable computing, networking protocols, programming languages, digital rights management, search engines, cellular communications technology, satellite television and microfluidic systems.
Prior to entering the practice of law, Scott served for five years as a Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy, where he worked as an electrical engineering officer and navigator.
