TIFFANY W. CHAN focuses her practice on defending corporate and individual clients in government enforcement actions, internal investigations and complex commercial litigation and arbitration matters.
Tiffany has experience in a wide range of civil, criminal and regulatory matters, including anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, disclosure of interest, employee misconduct, fraud, fiduciary duties, inside information, insider dealing and general commercial disputes. She has represented multinational corporations, financial institutions and individuals in investigatory and enforcement proceedings by various regulatory authorities in Asia. She has also represented individuals and corporations in complex disputes in arbitral proceedings conducted under the International Court of Arbitration (ICC) and Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) rules, as well as court proceedings in Hong Kong.
Prior to joining private practice, Tiffany held positions in a number of international investment banks within their litigation, AML compliance, corporate finance, and private wealth management departments. She has extensive experience with handling regulatory and internal investigations, as well as a broad knowledge of financial products.
Tiffany is fluent in English and Cantonese, and she is proficient in Mandarin.

- Acting for a set of affiliated companies in an investigation by the Hong Kong police in relation to potential money laundering and fraud-related offenses.
- Advising a multinational corporation in relation to investigations by various regulatory authorities concerning allegations of bribery.
- Conducting an internal investigation for a multinational corporation in relation to potential improper payments made to government officials.
- Advising an international hedge fund with its firm policies to comply with anti-money laundering laws in Hong Kong.
- Advising a former employee of an investment bank in his defense against proposed disciplinary action by a Hong Kong regulator.
- Conducting an internal investigation for a financial institution in relation to the potential dissemination of inside information by an employee.
- Advising a Hong Kong-based securities brokerage firm of its obligations under the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and other laws in relation to a request by a foreign enforcement agency for customer information.
- Representing a high net worth individual in a series of ICC and HKIAC arbitrations and ancillary court proceedings in Hong Kong, P.R.C., Cayman Islands, and Saint Kitts and Nevis, arising from a dispute in relation to his investment into and ownership of a private equity fund worth over US$1.1 billion.
- Acting for a P.R.C. state-owned group in various Hong Kong court proceedings arising from the default of bonds issued by the group.
- Advising a Hong Kong-based securities brokerage firm in a bankruptcy petition against a former customer.
